The department delivers courses at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
Key Stage 3
In Year 7 the theme of the course is “Healthy Eating” in Year 8 “Snack Products” and in Year 9 “Living Independently”. The complete course covers the following topics:
- Choosing Ingredients
- Snack products
- Cake Making
- Healthy Eating
- Health and Hygiene
Key Stage 4
- WJEC Level 1 & Level 2 Hospitality and Catering (Vocational)
- OCR Level 1/2 Cambridge National Certificate in Child Development (Vocational)
Key Stage 5
- WJEC Level 3 Applied Certificate in Food Science and Nutrition (A-Level)
- BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Children’s Play, Learning and Development – (Pearson)
