Students also have the option of following an Edexcel GCSE PE qualification or a BTEC Level 2 qualification in Sport. Students are placed on the most appropriate course based on their academic and practical ability. Students who select to follow a PE qualification receive an additional three lessons a week; this time is used to deliver both the theoretical and practical aspects of the respective course.
In Key Stage 5 students have the opportunity to select the Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Sport qualification. This course builds on their learning in Key Stage 4 and provides a pathway towards their chosen career/further education path.
