Connor secures top-10 place in Tour de Yorkshire

Huge congratulations to former Trinity Academy student Connor Swift, who took part in his third Tour de Yorkshire last week and came out with a place in the top 10.

Riding for Madison Genesis, Connor placed in the top 20 on each of the four days’ racing, and gained ninth place overall with a time of 15 hours 18 minutes 40 seconds – just 28 seconds behind first-placed Christopher Lawless.

Connor leads the pack during stage 3 of this year’s Tour de Yorkshire.

Over the past 12 months, Connor’s cycling career has gone from strength to strength. Highlights include being named British road race champion; representing Great Britain at the 2018 road race world championships; and being stagiaire (a kind of internship position) with top-level team Dimension Data. Most recently, Connor won individual victory in the opening round of the 2019 Tour Series in Redditch, with round two set to take place in Motherwell on Tuesday May 13.
