Trinity Academy student secures place at Academy of Northern Ballet

A student from Trinity Academy at Thorne has secured a place at the prestigious Academy of Northern Ballet in Leeds.
Year 8 student Keegan Wilson will join Northern Ballet from September, having shown exceptional promise in his discipline – despite having had no formal dance training until he joined Trinity Academy last year!
The school’s Dance Teacher Emma Porter said: “I was absolutely over the moon to hear that Keegan was successful with Northern Ballet. We’re all incredibly proud of him. It is such an impressive achievement as there are not many places available and he will receive dance training that’s out of this world from some of the best facilitators out there. It’s a great springboard for his future career in dance.
“Northern Ballet has a strong repertoire in theatrical dance productions, with an emphasis on story-telling, as well as classical ballet. I have no doubt that Keegan will have a wonderful time and learn so much; we wish him every success for the future!”
Academy of Northern Ballet is the only Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) that specialises in classical ballet in the UK. Centres for Advanced Training in dance aim to identify and support young people who show exceptional potential, regardless of their personal circumstances, to benefit from world-class specialist training as part of a broad and balanced education.
